The key Elements that make Waiakea Water a Healthy Brand to Drink

An online article about bottled water brands focused its attention on the health benefits these brands often claim to have. In order for any type of water to benefit the body it needs to have a certain level of alkalinity. A water’s alkalinity is measured by its pH level, which should be close to the body’s own in order for the body to receive any benefits. A pH level close to 7.4 works well for cell hydration and nourishment. Since the Waiakea brand of bottled water has a pH level around 7.6, it is a water that helps promote good health.

The alkalinity or pH level a water has is directly attributed to where it is sourced, how it travels to its source and how it is processed for bottling. When Ryan Emmons decided to launch his own brand of bottled water he wanted to source it from the island of Hawaii. This was because he was already familiar with the benefits and great taste the water had, since he had vacationed there at his Uncle’s residence as a child. Known as Hawaii volcanic water, the Waiakea brand obtains its alkalinity from the many layers of volcanic rock it passes through on its way to a spring in the small town of Hilo.

The water captured for the Waiakea brand actually begins as a combination of rain and snow that falls on the peak of the Mauna Loa volcano. The Waiakea water pH level is not the only beneficial health attribute it receives from the layers of volcanic rock. It also becomes enhanced with several essential minerals including magnesium and potassium. These volcanic water benefits remain intact throughout the process of bottling.

As someone who has always enjoyed the pristine environment and clear water of Hawaii, Ryan Emmons wanted to keep the Waiakea brand in its pure state. He chose to use a bottling process that left less of a carbon footprint on the planet, while also maintaining the water’s naturally pure state. Waiakea water has been certified as CarbonNeutral and uses RPET bottles made of 100 percent recycled plastic.
